Errr, so Street Directory is back with a new maps provider. So what? The site still hasn’t dealt with its clutter. The user interface still is horrible and the information structure on the site is the kind I will only wish onto my worse enemies.

My colleague was telling me about how he was using Street Directory when I suggested to him to try GoThere.sg. He loved it immediately. And guess what, he started spreading the word to his friends. My other colleagues who were foreigners also got excited about Gothere.sg.

I’m going out on a limb and said GoThere.sg was built at a significantly lower cost than StreetDirectory.

Makes you wonder.

Anyway, one of the reasons why I dislike StreetDirectory as compared to GoThere.sg is because of their purpose.

GoThere.sg is here to help us get to places and find places. This is how their site looks:

Notice how the main focus of their home page is the interface to help us get directions and find places.

Not contrast this with StreetDirectory’s home page:

In seems to me, StreetDirectory isn’t interested in helping us. What they are interested in is getting traffic to stick ads into our faces.

So StreetDirectory relaunches. So what?
