Good to hear/read that. With prosperity and peace comes alot of issues. We can demand for everything from the government but sometimes I’m not sure if meeting every demand will be good for the country after all.

No expat issues in Malaysia? I’m sure they will have IF they can attract expats. Everyone in this world is always seeking a better life. I think that most Singaporeans are way up there on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, and its always tougher to satisfy.

My 5 cents’ worth: After staying in HK for more than 4 years, I think that most people in this city are pretty much stuck on the bottom 2 tiers on Maslow’s…

No idea what I’m rumbling about… lol~

Also, I am reminding myself, not to bother so much with semantics used by other people. Singapore is what Singapore means to me. You can choose to anyhow label it, but you won’t change how I feel about it.

Hey whitedusk, not really that angry. This post was more of a way for me to remember not to get caught up with anti-PAP rhetoric and realized why the choice of words may have been wrong, our minister wasn’t meaning anything insidious & unpatriotic.

Singapore is a hotel and a good place for business. That’s all there is to it.

Your 2/2.5 years + 10/13 years of reservist doesn’t count for much.

That is the brutal truth that the MIW would rather us not know.

But those of us who have bled for our country and have opened our eyes to what Singapore is under the MIW have no illusions.

Reading deeper into the article, I think he meant city-state. We are a city-state whereas New York is part of a larger entity.
