Update: I am changing the title of this post to reflect more accurately what I think. The original title of the post was “Problems Appearing With Podfire”. The reason why I’m changing the title is because it is not so much that Podfire itself has a problem with its videos (50% of which I like) or its concept or its implementation but more of people not dealing with internal issues using the proper channels.
Podfire launched a while back. I am totally partial about this - Geek Goddess Show is a guilty indulgent which I enjoy and Blogger’s Treat was a pain to watch. Whatever I feel about the shows, the concept was one that I liked. I was looking forward to this project having the same success as clicknetwork.tv.
Then I saw this post by Sabrina.
I am not sure if Podfire and its related shows were meant to be part of a business or the plan was to eventually grow into a business or just a fun-fun-try-try project. It doesn’t matter. Airing stuff like this between partners is, if not distasteful, rather dumb - no one’s reputation is done any favors.
Added: I leave no reservations when I say I think Miccheng has been a great contributor to the local development community and if you read my post, I hope it is evident that I do not appreciate the hitjob done on him. He deserves better.

Hi Ian,
Both Sabrina and I are appreciative of Podfire for giving us an opportunity to start Blogger’s Treat.
However, as we went into the production of episode 5, we started to face problems in the areas of the creative control.
We have addressed these problems with Podfire and some middle ground solutions were provided before the launch of Episode 3.
Unfortunately these problems occurred again when Episode 3 was launched.
Out of appreciation for Podfire, I won’t go into details of the problems..
I have highlighted my position with Podfire on the problems but we have yet to receive any respond.
Sabrina has tried emailing, IM and even calling Podfire, but she did not get any respond.
I believed Sabrina was at an event yesterday and was asked several times about episode 4.
Hence, she used her blog to communicate to the masses to explain why episode 4 has not appeared.
If Sabrina and I were to go our separate ways with Podfire, I have also worked out a plan to which we can still use Podfire as our distribution network and work on a balance revenue sharing, if any revenue were to come the way of the show.
I hope that this would be of interest to Podfire.
Regards.
Aaron

Hi Ian,
Thanks for your vote of confidence.
I believe there has been some misunderstanding between the Blogger’s Treat team (Aaron and Sabrina) and Podfire. I regret that we had to air our differences in such an unsightly manner.
We wont go into details here, but suffice it to say Podfire has found it extremely difficult to deal with the Blogger’s Treat team. Mainly because we do not know who is actually in-charge, we keep receiving contradicting instruction from Aaron and Sabrina. i.e. one asks to be dropped from Podfire and the other asks to remain with Podfire.
His comment on your blog seems to contradict an earlier email he sent to us (dated 17 May) where he expressed his desire to pull out of Podfire - a sentiment he reiterated in a conversation we had earlier this evening (23 May 2008).
This mixed signals is rather frustrating - with one screaming for ep 4 to be published and the controlling producer of the show indicating to us that they don’t wish to carry on. As such, while Sabrina and Aaron sort out their differences and come out with an official stand, we are hesitant to publish further episodes for fear of offending either party.
In our defense, we have not recieved any emails or calls from Sabrina regarding the release of episode 4. We do apologise for the IMs, but this whole week has been outdoor shoot after outdoor shoot and we are not at our computers during working hours.
Podfire has been asked several times about bloggers treat as well, but without clear direction from its producers, we are hesistant to continue.
We at Podfire believe its a hostile move to publish accusations on a popular blog like Sabrina’s. However, we do respect that she has her own point of view, and we believe that the blogosphere will judge for themselves our difficult situation.
Regards,
Miccheng

Hello Aaron and Miccheng for commenting about the issues. Aaron has sent me a follow up comment. I am hesitant in publishing it. The reason is not because of the content but I would really like it if both your endeavors succeed and I think a blog and its comment page might not be the best place.
Aaron, with your permission, could I forward the comment to Miccheng?
Guys, really hope all the best in resolving this so the right show can go on.
